Challenge

Sustainability reporting is often complex, time-consuming, and disconnected from real business workflows. Companies face difficulties in complying with evolving frameworks like BRSR, GRI, and CSRD due to fragmented data, manual effort, and overlapping requirements. The lack of integration between data sources, stakeholder inputs, and reporting standards leads to inefficiencies, errors, and delays. Without automation and clear structure, generating accurate and audit-ready reports becomes a significant burden for ESG teams.

Solution

This application will simplify sustainability reporting for companies by automating data collection, aligning with global frameworks like BRSR, GRI, and CSRD, and reducing manual effort. It will provide accurate, real-time information through system integrations, support informed decision-making with AI-powered insights, and ensure reliable, audit-ready reports. The platform will streamline the entire reporting process, helping teams across regions stay compliant, save time, and focus on achieving their sustainability goals.

Design process

We followed the Stanford Design Thinking approach: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.
This helped us deeply understand user needs, quickly generate ideas, and improve designs based on feedback

Surveys and Insights

I conducted surveys and interviews to gain insight into the users' views and thoughts on sustainability reporting. Participants discussed the difficulties faced by organizations regarding data collection, compliance, and transparency. Many highlighted challenges such as managing data from multiple sources, keeping up with changing regulations. Some also mentioned concerns about the risk of inaccurate reporting and the need for more reliable, user-friendly tools to support their work.

While she’s comfortable with spreadsheets and enterprise tools, she often finds the reporting process tedious and time-consuming. Priya is actively looking for smarter, more efficient ways to manage sustainability data and ensure accuracy in reporting.
